Providence Health & Services Transporter - Patient Transport in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Transporter to its Patient Transportation team at Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This is a full-time, evening shift position. The work schedule will be Monday-Friday from 12:30p-9p.

We are seeking a Transporter that will provide transportation for patients to and from departments within the hospital as needed. Responsible for safely transporting patients using appropriate equipment, e.g., wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, etc.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
DOCUMENTATION: Gather complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to all customers
Complete all pertinent documentation necessary when transporting patients to and from the department
Notify Nursing or patient monitoring staff before taking the patient out of ward and immediately upon returning the patient to the ward
PATIENT CARE: Provide for patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with policies and procedures
Identify patient by checking patient’s full name and medical record number according to department procedure
Relay any discrepancies, patient condition or special information regarding the patient to the appropriate personnel (e.g., nursing staff, Lead/Coordinator, technologist)
Provide respect for patient modesty by proper transportation of patients on and off beds, stretchers, tables, etc. and sees that patients are properly clothed and covered during transport
Maintain awareness of patient status and takes appropriate actions to meet their needs, appropriately communicating necessary information (changes, etc.) to the staff, e.g., nurses, technologists, physicians, etc.).
Practice appropriate infection control by regularly washing hands before and after each patient contact
Strictly adheres to all infection / isolation control policies
PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Practice professional communications, appearance, conduct, punctuality, attendance and attitude that reinforces physician, patient and co-worker respect and confidence
Contribute to the provision of patient care by assisting professional / technical staff
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to assist others by regularly helping in other areas of the department when time permits
Maintain Professional Portfolio as required by HR policy
Assume responsibility for mandatory inservice education on an annual basis
Attend department meetings as required
Establish and maintain a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all members of the Diagnostic Imaging Department and all other hospital staff
Always greet patients in a courteous and respectful manner
Respond with empathy and demonstrates positive interpersonal skills
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with written policies and procedures
Manage stressful situations in a manner that promotes positive outcomes
Support a "Culture of Safety" within their facility
Regularly checks equipment, accessories and supplies
Restock as needed
Clean and disinfect stretchers, wheelchairs, etc. after each use
Respond and demonstrate flexibility to changes in the work schedule as determined by the staffing and patient load
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) card
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Six (6) months of Hospital experience
