Providence Health & Services Surgical Technologist ($10k bonus offered) in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Surgical Technologist to join its Operating Room team in Medford, Oregon. This is full-time, day shift opening. Hours are 0645-1715. You will be asked to pick up 2 days of standby/call per week until the team is fully staffed. Once fully staffed, standby may be reduced to 1 time per week.
*We are offering a $10k bonus and relocation assistance for anyone who resides over 60 miles from Medford. You must be within a 30 minute drive time from the hospital due to standby/call hours.*
In this position, you will:
Work closely with all members of the surgical team to provide direct patient care in an effort to optimize positive surgical outcomes.
Assist the surgeon and surgical team during the procedure by providing the appropriate sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment.
Maintain proper sterile technique during the procedure
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Qualified candidates must possess at least 1 of the following:
Completion of a surgical technologist program accredited by a national accreditation organization -and- holds a current surgical technologist certification issued by a nationally accredited certifying organization for surgical technologists, both approved by the Oregon Health Authority -or-
Completion of a surgical technologist training program in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps with 16 hours of continuing education required every 2 years per state regulation -or-
2 years of current surgical technologist experience within a healthcare facility in the United States, or as an employee of an agency or institution of the federal government, in the time frame immediately preceding January 1, 2017 with 16 hours of continuing education required every 2 years per state regulation
New Graduate requirements:
- A recent graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program must obtain a surgical technologist certification issued by a nationally accredited certifying organization for surgical technologists that is approved by the Oregon Health Authority within 12 months of completion of a surgical technologist program
