Providence Health & Services RN - Utilization Review Coordinator in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Utilization Review Coordinator (0.9 FTE, Evenings) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
The Utilization Review Coordinator applies concepts of the nursing process, such as identification of disease, facilitation of healing, health promotion, illness prevention and patient care delivery to each task, clinical review and/or quality improvement project. The role is responsible for reviewing all Medicare and Medicaid patients daily for medical necessity using the Interqual criteria.
Successful candidates will need to remain current on CMS utilization requirements to ensure compliance, be collaborative with MDs to ensure all the documented elements for inpatient status are present, and have a great eye for detail.
The UR Coordinator will work on a large, collaborative team and will work 3, 12 hours shifts per week from 12:00pm - 12:30am. This role will work a minimum of one weekend per month (both Saturday AND Sunday).
We do have several hospitals in the Portland service areas as well as Medford, OR and are open to discussing locations that differ from Providence St. Vincent as a "home base." If interested in this possibility, please inquire more with hiring manager in interview process.
In this position, you will:
Support the care of the patient through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate services and resources to maximize optimum outcomes.
Work collaboratively with the multiple disciplines, both internal and external to the organization, in effecting quality and cost-effective management of the patient care along the continuum.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Current, unencumbered Oregon state Registered Nurse (RN) license
5 years clinical experience in an acute adult medical/surgical care setting -or- 5 years current Utilization Review or Case Management experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Knowledge of Utilization Review
Familiarity with insurance payors
