Providence is calling a RegisteredNurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR.
Phase 1 recovery area for surgery and procedure
patients receiving anesthesia. Staffing is 1:1. We do have an obligation to
take call one night a week from 2300-0800, as well as one weekend a month. The
weekend call begins at 0800 Saturday morning til Monday morning at 0800. You
need to live within 30 minutes of the hospital for working in PACU.
Accessibility is key to arriving within that 30 minute time frame.
In this position, you will:
Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care forpatients in an acute care environment.
Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe,compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients andfamilies, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs,and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.
Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act inthe state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code ofEthics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursingdegree/diploma required upon hire
All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of abachelor’s degree in nursing must obtain a bachelor’s degree in Nursingor higher within 3 years of hire.
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not berequired to obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing
UnencumberedRN license in Oregon and wherever care is delivered
If RN holds a multistate license through the NurseLicensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements oflicensure in the new state(s) of hire.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be from AHA or MTN and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) / Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS ) within 3 months
12months of acute care experience working with the patient populationsimilar to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit -or- completion of thespecialty residency located at Providence Medford Medical Center
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor'sdegree in nursing
National Certification in Post Anesthesia Care Unit
