Providence is calling a Surgical Services Center of Excellence RN Coordinator to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This is a full-time, exempt position. We are seeking a Surgical Services Center of Excellence Coordinator (RN) that will be responsible for the oversight of the Center of Excellence accreditation programs in surgical services to include training and education, supply coordination, managing and directing scheduling of robotic cases, working directly with physicians on concerns, working with vendor on equipment issues, analysis of clinical, quality and financial data, and assisting with credentialing of physicians in robotic surgery. Position is the direct contact with the robotics vendor, SRC accreditation team, and participating surgeons, and provides feedback to them on any issues or concerns experienced.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise program development, patient and staff education, multidisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing SRC Center of Excellence program compliance

  • In conjunction with Surgical Services Clinical Educator orients, trains and secures competency for nursing personnel and maintains appropriate staffing for robotic cases

  • Develop and implement clinical pathways that facilitate the standardization of perioperative care for robotic and minimally invasive surgeries

  • Is able to demonstrate the appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and guidelines in assessing patients

  • Provide clinical direction and oversight to the center of excellence program by reviewing case information, ensuring appropriate equipment and supplies are available, coordinating with physician offices to ensure all necessary information is available for each case

  • Act as a resource for in-service OR Nursing and CST staff on pre-, intra-, and post-operative management of the robotic system procedures

  • Assist management of inventory of instruments and accessories

  • Clinical troubleshooting of the robotic surgical system during robotic procedures

  • Assist with set up of robotic system for surgical procedures

  • Serve as a point person for any robotic program-related questions (System or Clinical)

  • Report and documents any unusual patient or administrative occurrence that might have a harmful or potentially harmful effect on the patient’s and/or staff’s well being

  • Evaluate effectiveness of care by assisting with the development of PI indicators, collecting data, monitoring ongoing PI status, discussion of PI findings in robotics meetings and makes recommendations for action plans

  • Work with Surgery and Hospital leadership in growth and development of the robotics program

  • Analyze data and makes recommendations for program needs, concerns, growth patterns, and clinical requirements

  • Identify and support new surgeons interested in robotic surgery

  • Provide guidance and assistance to the Director of Surgery regarding marketing and growth strategies for the robotics program

  • Design, implements, manages and monitors the robotics educational program in conjunction with the Surgical Service Clinical Educator

  • Assist Director of Surgery with credentialing issues related to robotics

  • Review Robotic surgery schedule and assists with staffing as needed

  • Work directly with the OR Materials Supervisor and coordinates the purchase of all robotic supplies to ensure all necessary supplies are available for the cases

  • Maintain and collects data on all patients who undergo SRC-accredited surgery in SRC's outcomes database (or similar qualifying database) in a manner consisten with applicable patient privacy and confidentiality regulations

  • Provide case information to the Medical Staff Office or Quality Department as requested to assist with oversight of robotic surgery case complications

  • Inform Director of Surgery immediately with any patient or physician concerns regarding robotic surgery, and completes necessary documentation if required

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within 18 months of hire

  • Current licensure in the State of Oregon as a Registered Nurse

  • CNOR certified

  • Five (5) years of Surgical nursing in the Operating Room

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration

  • Program Management, robotics or similar speciality
