Providence Health & Services RN - Clinical Education Coordinator, Peri-Op and Heart and Vascular ($12k Hiring Bonus) in Medford, Oregon

Description:

Providence is looking for a RN Clinical Education Coordinator to join its Peri-Op and Heart and Vascular team at Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This is a full-time position with a shift schedule of 7am-3:30pm.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Education Coordinator that assesses, plans, presents/facilitates and evaluates orientation and education activities for clinical employees to assure competence in job performance and promote professional development. Acts as liaison and/or education consultant with other departments in the hospital. Coordinates student experiences across all hospital units. Coordinates and facilitates quality and continuing quality improvement activities to promote quality patient outcomes and effective /efficient use of resources.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with regional and system teams to meet education goals and objectives.

  • Plans, develops, implements or coordinates, and evaluates educational programs for clinical employees based on assessed needs to develop, maintain or improve skills and levels of competence to perform job related skills within hospital and department policy/procedures.

  • Collaborates to assist with department-specific orientations.

  • Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation of hospital orientation, education, and competency activities as needed.

  • Supports management staff as requested.

  • Acts as education and quality resource person and liaison for employees and on regional committees.

  • Develops and implements educational programs for staff who require clinical job training including didactic and clinical experiences.

  • May direct or be involved in patient care during the course of providing training.

  • Assists staff to maintain competence in anticipating, providing and using environment, instruments, equipment, and supplies appropriate to patient specific age, weight, size, and condition.

  • May develop and maintain policies and procedures including patient care standards.

  • Participates in hiring new staff.

  • Utilizes knowledge of communication skills, change theory, problems solving, strategies, and knowledge of resources in role as leader and consultant.

  • Coordinates and facilitates reporting activities for quality purposes, completing reports to meet recommended deadlines.

  • Monitor sentinel events and evaluates for trends.

  • Develops individual knowledge, skills, and abilities in Quality/CQI concepts and techniques and coach others.

Qualifications:

Required qualification in this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Current licensure by the Oregon State Board of Nursing

  • American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Health Care Provider certification

Preferred qualification in this position:

  • Master's degree in nursing or relating field

  • Additional training in adult education and management

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and specialty certifications

  • Membership in professional organizations

  • In-depth knowledge of advanced critical care, and surgical concepts
