Providence is calling a RN Clinical Education Coordinator to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This is a part-time position (.6 FTE). We are offering a flexible day shift schedule.

We are seeking a RN Clinical Education Coordinator that will Assess, plan, presents/facilitates and evaluates orientation and education activities for clinical employees to assure competence in job performance and promote professional development. Acts as liaison and/or education consultant with other departments in the hospital. Coordinates student experiences across all hospital units. Coordinates and facilitates quality and continuing quality improvement activities to promote quality patient outcomes and effective /efficient use of resources.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Collaborate with regional and system teams to meet education goals and objectives
Plan, develop, implement or coordinate, and evaluate educational programs for clinical employees based on assessed needs to develop, maintain or improve skills and levels of competence to perform job related skills within hospital and department policy/procedures
Collaborate to assist with department-specific orientations
Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation of hospital orientation, education, and competency activities as needed
Support management staff as requested
Act as education and quality resource person and liaison for employees and on regional committees
Develop and implement educational programs for staff who require clinical job training including didactic and clinical experience
May direct or be involved in patient care during the course of providing training
Assist staff to maintain competence in anticipating, providing and using environment, instruments, equipment, and supplies appropriate to patient specific age, weight, size, and condition
May develop and maintain policies and procedures including patient care standards
Participate in hiring new staff
Utilize knowledge of communication skills, change theory, problems solving, strategies, and knowledge of resources in role as leader and consultant
Coordinate and facilitate reporting activities for quality purposes, completing reports to meet recommended deadline
Monitor sentinel events and evaluates for trends
Develop individual knowledge, skills, and abilities in Quality/CQI concepts and techniques and coach others
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Current licensure by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
AHA-BLS for Health Care Provider certification
Able to present complex information to large groups
Working knowledge of infection control, aseptic technique, safety regulations, and general nursing procedures
Working knowledge of adult education principles
Ability to use computerized audiovisual equipment
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
Coursework/Training Additional training in adult education and management
ICU experience with an in-depth knowledge of advanced critical care concepts
ACLS, NRP and specialty certifications
Membership in professional organizations
