Providence Health & Services Respiratory Therapist Registered in Medford, Oregon
Providence is looking a Registered Respiratory Therapist - Home Medical Equipment Respiratory (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Pavillion Medford in Medford, OR.
This position will work within our Home Health patients homes and see patients in our out-patient setting in the office.
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist - Home Medical Equipment Respiratory that will perform respiratory therapy procedures and assessments in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Therapist instructs patients in the proper use of equipment provided by Home Medical Equipment's Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment groups. Work includes troubleshooting equipment problems for patients using equipment provided by Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment. Position provide overall support to Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment staff, marketing and sales.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Be responsible for assessment of appropriate equipment, coordination, initial contact, instruction, education delivery, and set-up of identified oxygen and respiratory equipment whether they be routine or a part of a special program (i.e., ventilators, suction equipment, CPAP, BiPAP) for all age group of patients
Be responsible to discuss and determine payment methods and provide supporting criteria for insurance billing for customers and for Home Services
Make service calls and/or telephone contact with customers to troubleshoot respiratory related problems
Follow-up with customers, physicians, hospital staff, and others as required per policies and procedures
Assure quality patient care following established policies and procedures of the company
Evaluate and determine effectiveness of equipment used and makes recommendations to the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor as indicated
Educate customer/caregivers/family about equipment and safety procedures
Plan and coordinate daily assignments in such a manner as to accomplish the workload efficiently and completely
Complete within 24 hours a daily utilization record of tasks performed for the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor with accurate data to measure individual and departmental utilization
Submit complete and accurate paperwork for services performed and equipment delivered/picked up within 24 hours of the event. As a minimum, assures asset tag numbers and serial numbers are included on all paperwork; that products are properly coded; insurance, diagnosis, referral sources, etc., are included on the paperwork
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with new and existing customers, physicians, referral sources ,and staff members. A good working relationship involves good communication, sensitivity, and assistance whenever possible
Report urgent or unusual situations to immediate supervisor and fills out unusual occurrence reports as per policy
Required qualification in this position includes:
Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), -OR-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Upon hire must be licensed by the Respiratory Therapist Licensing Board in the state of Oregon AND within 30 days of hire date acquire licensure with the Health Professions Quality Assurance Division for Respiratory Therapists in the state of Washington for Portland and Salem, Oregon positions. For positions outside of the Portland and Salem service area, such as Corvallis, OR and Medford, OR, a state of Washington RT license is NOT required, only a state of Oregon RT license
Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties as well as a State of Washington WATCH background check.
Valid driver's license
Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire
Preferred qualification in this position include:
- Home care or home medical equipment experience
