Providence Pharmacy Technician - Acute Care in Medford, Oregon


Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician 1 Acute Care - Pharmacy (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR.

This is a per-diem position. Our Caregivers have the ability to view and sign up for available shifts 4 weeks in advance. Technician working hours are 8-hour shift rotations between the hours of 6:30am - 11:30pm, 7 days a week. We are seeking applicants who are available to work any day Monday-Sunday. In this position you will have the ability to cross-train as a Medical History Pharmacy Tech.

We are seeking candidates who have 4-5 day availability per pay period (which comes out to 8-10 shifts per month). We seek hires who are able to work at least 2 weekends per month, and have the flexibility to work some holidays along with varying shifts. This is a great opportunity to get your 'foot in the door,' as we offer per-diem staff in good standing, the first opportunity to gain full-time employment within our team.

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician 1 Acute Care - Pharmacy that will perform duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the Pyxis Profile System.

In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare medications (extemporaneous solutions) for batches (cart fill)

  • Fill and deliver medications for both inpatients and outpatients

  • Complete appropriate documentation per state and federal regulations/guidelines

  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date stocking by assisting in stock and inventory control to maintain an adequate supply on hand

  • Inventory and stock Pyxis machines on the units


Required qualifications in this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- GED

  • Current Oregon Board of Pharmacy Technician registration

Preferred qualifications in this position includes:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program

  • Inpatient experience

  • Experience with Pyxis, Pyxis CII Safe and Epic
