Providence Health & Services Patient Relations Representative in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Patient Relations Representative to its Staffing Resources (Float Pool) team in Medford, OR. This position will support varying clinics throughout the Medford service area. This is a full-time, day shift position.
We are seeking a Patient Relations Representative (PRR) who will be the first point of contact to patients or visitors in person or by phone. This position plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service and serves as first point of contact to patients or visitors in person or by phone
Navigate multiple and complex data systems to research and/or record pertinent information in compliance with policies
Operate multi-line telephone system; routes calls and responds to general inquiries
Register patients; updates demographic and insurance information
Make patient appointments and monitors appointment schedules daily
Review charts and adjusts daily provider schedules to ensure accuracy in scheduling and visit preparedness
Greet incoming patients, obtains initial vital signs (Height, Weight, BP, Pulse, Respirations) and in accordance with predefined metrics, documents pertinent patient care information (With additional training)
Prepare rooms for new patients. Stocks room supplies and carts. Utilizes and maintains supplies to minimize waste (With additional training)
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High School Diploma or GED
One (1) year of customer service experience or successful completion of a Providence internship
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office applications
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
One (1) year of medical office or healthcare experience
Basic experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or computerized billing systems
Medical terminology experience
