Providence Monitor Technician in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Monitor Technician to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This is a full-time, night shift position offering hours from 7pm-7am (3, 12 hour shifts per week). Our Monitor Techs support any inpatient that is being monitored on Cardiac Telemetry in the ICU and Med/Surg units.

We are seeking a Monitor Technician who will be responsible for the correct and prompt recognition of electro-cardiographic monitoring of patients and reporting same to RN caregiver.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Assume responsibility for own personal continuing education and development needs
Complete annual EKG Review Quiz
Contributes to a spirit of teamwork with co-workers:
Answer, in business-like manner, incoming telephone and intercom calls promptly, and promptly relays messages or requests to nursing personnel
Give positive feedback to co-workers
Demonstrate a willingness to pursue conflict resolution
Attend 50% of scheduled staff meetings
Maintains pleasant and business-like interpersonal relationships with hospital staff, medical staff and the public:
Welcome and direct visitors
Assist physicians seeking information
Give out accurate information while observing confidentiality
Orient new personnel as instructed
Ensure quality patient care:
Continuously observe, appropriately record and accurately interpret the results of EKG monitoring according to unit protocol and procedure
Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure optimum lead placement for accurate monitor readings
Report equipment malfunctions promptly to nursing staff and alerts Engineering
Maintain strict confidentiality for patients and families
Communicate concise, meaningful information to nursing staff and medical staff
Access the secured medication room to inventory, put away and retrieve supply items used for patient care and to re-stock carts/cupboards in the CCU
Required qualifications for this position includes:
HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Coursework/Training: Completion of Basic Electrocardiogram (EKG) course
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
