Providence Medical Assistant I - Staffing, Float Pool *$750 Sign-On Bonus* in Medford, Oregon
Providence Medical Group is calling a Medical Assistant I to its Staffing (Float Pool) team in Medford, OR. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday. The earliest start time is 7am and latest shift end time is 7pm. We are looking for someone who is interested in experiencing all the PMG clinics and enjoys variety in their work schedule. Base schedules are handed out 2-3 weeks before the month of work, however, same day changes do occur. This is a great learning experience for Medical Assistants of all skill types. It is also a way to see all of what Providence has to offer before making a decision to work in one clinic, or stay within the staffing department.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant who will work under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A CMA is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. A CMA is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform all duties and passed competency testing/evaluation as required for a Certified Medical Assistant
Ability to perform all front and back office skills as appropriate to role and certification. (ex: vital signs, set up/assist with minor procedures, EKG, blood pressure, point of care testing, patient authorizations, scheduling, etc.)
Perform increasingly advanced procedures with validated competencies
Provide accurate, complete, legible and timely documentation of all procedures performed in the patient's medical record
Follow correct procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste
According to organizational standards, prepare, clean and sterilize, and/or reprocess, instruments (autoclaving) and maintain equipment with validated competencies
Anticipate and proactively plan for practitioner and patient needs
Demonstrate a commitment to education and sharing of knowledge
Assist in orientation of new team members and serves as a role model of best practices to others
Provide open and timely communication and information to patients, families, and practitioners (as appropriate)
Consistently meet skill based competency expectations established for the organization
Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and serve as an ambassador for the organization when interfacing with anyone outside the organization
Required qualifications for this position includes:
HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or alternate training program
National certification/registration as a Medical Assistant within 180 days of hire by:
American Medical Certification Association (AMCA),
Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA),
American Medical Technologists (AMT),
National Health career Association (NHA),
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), -OR-
National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP);
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) accredited
Preferred qualifications for this position includes :
6 months of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant
Current national certification/registration (AMCA, AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT or NAHP) as a Medical Assistant
