Providence Medical Group is calling a Medical Assistant to join our Staffing Resource (Float Pool) team in Southern Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to support both primary care and specialty clinics throughout the Rogue Valley. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, position. As a Medical Assistant I, you will:
Greet and prepare patients for their appointment – confirm identity; record vital signs and other appropriate information, maintain medication and immunization records, and document all interactions
Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas
Under the delegation of a licensed practitioner, you may:
Obtain specimens; perform required testing; administer medications; and administer vaccines
Assist or perform point-of-care tests and clinical procedures
Float to other clinics as needed
Required qualifications for this position includes:
HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, -OR- an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for a National Certification exam
Incumbent must obtain certification within 180 days of hire: National Certification (AMCA, AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) accredited
Active National certification/registration by AMCA, AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP as a
Medical Assistant prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment
Previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR)
