Providence Health & Services Medical Assistant, Certified with Limited X-Ray License in Medford, Oregon


Providence is calling a Certified Medical Assistant with Limited X-Ray License to it's Occupational Health Team with Providence in Medford, OR. This is a full-time, day shift position. Work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant Certified who will work closely with a team of staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care. MA duties include assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care and excellent customer service while managing the workflow between patients and providers.

  • Facilitate communication between patients, providers, clinic staff, internal and external customers to support patient care.

  • Navigate data system(s) to research and/or record pertinent information.

  • Assist physicians/providers during examinations and procedures.

  • Conducts various tests and procedures and administers medications.

  • Perform routine diagnostic radiographic services according to the guidelines set forth by the State of Oregon and the individuals license.

  • Provide proper radiation protection for patients and staff in accordance with federal, state and relevant department safety standards.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Experience performing testing, administering medications, and assist with examinations and procedures within the MA Scope of Care to support patient care provided by a licensed healthcare provider.

  • Credentialed through one of the following a nationally recognized Medical Assistant programs: AAMA, AMCA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NAHP required. If not currently credentialed, this position will require successfully obtaining Medical Assistant Certification within 60 days from date of hire.

  • Current AHA-BLS (Basic Life Support) for the Healthcare Provider.

  • Audiometric, spirometry and EBT (evidential breath alcohol) testing are required to possess or gain the appropriate certifications within 1 year of hire.

  • Valid OR State Certificate License in Limited Diagnostic Radiology

  • Services.

  • Preferred Qualifications include:

  • 6 months recent experience working as a Medical Assistant.

  • Experience with electronic medical records and/or computerized billing systems.
