Providence Health & Services Health Information Imaging Specialist 2 in Medford, Oregon

Description:

Providence is calling a Health Information Imaging Specialist 2 (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Receive all discharged patients daily.

  • Process all records in proper order and facilitate quick retrieval of specific information when requested.

  • Prep and scan all record types into the imaging system.

  • Index and quality check records that are in the imaging system and process the paper record for verification of record capture for boxing and storage.

  • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy.

  • Keep abreast of changes in State and Federal laws as they relate to confidentiality and release of protected health information (PHI).

  • Maintain the integrity of the Master Patient Index (MPI) by merging duplicate patients in Star and any other downstream systems.

  • Submit reports to State agencies, as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1 year of experience in a Health Information Management setting with Release of Information (ROI) experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) -or-

  • College course work in health information technology or equivalent

  • Medical Terminology
